One of the main features of MindMeld is the app’s ability to listen to and understand conversations. After processing a person’s speech, our Anticipatory Computing Engine extracts the most meaningful parts from conversations so we can find that hidden gem of information that our users need, without them having to search for it. In order to understand what that information is, we analyze an array of components, one of which includes grammar. Grammar is the study of words and the way they work together, and includes the rules dealing with the syntax and word structures of a language. We love the illustration above because it shows that parts of speech are a universal aspect of all languages, and it represents the lens through which we as humans view our world. Everyone describes things using the same tools: nouns for objects, verbs for actions, adjectives for descriptions, and so on. Grammar is an important aspect of our technology, because without understanding how our words interact with one another, MindMeld would not be able to function.
