{I spy Baxter in the yard}
I ordered this sign from L.L. Bean. They will make it custom with the name and coordinates of any US city. We got married in Kennebunkport. :)
A lobster pillow for the Mainer.
A crab pillow for my husband, the Marylander.
I do realize it's all a little kitchy, but that's exactly what I was going for. I wanted a room in the house where I could display nautical decor to my hearts content because I LOVE THE BEACH. Since I don't have a beach house, I thought the sunroom would do.
Now let's talk future plans. New windows are probably in the cards. I'd love to replace the floors, but it just seems like a waste so I plan to lay a large indoor/outdoor area rug instead. What I'm most excited about is my plan to paint the pine boards white! It's the "results" part I'm excited about, not the painting part. That part's going to suck....big time. There will be sanding, caulking, priming, painting, painting, painting, and this ceiling is high man! My neck hurts already. I had hopes of getting to it this Spring, but realistically shiz ain't gonna happen. But next year, I promise!
I want to leave the thick beams along the ceiling (there are 3) natural wood because I do like that rustic, cottagey look. I'm envisioning something similar to the ceiling in this kitchen:

Pretty, right? I know some of you natural wood lovers are going to disagree with me about this painting thing. You have a year to convince me. :)
