Nashville, Indiana has so many unique and quirky shops–including House of Jerky!
I’ve been to many Indiana towns at this point and I have to say that a shop dedicated to jerky is a first.

I had no idea that jerky came in so many varieties! You’ve got your turkey and beef and venison, of course. Those are your jerky staples, right?
But then…there’s a few bags here of things you haven’t seen before! little Indiana felt very brave and tried one of the more unusual kinds: kangaroo jerky.
It tasted like chicken! I’m just kidding. It didn’t. At least, not any chicken I’ve ever had! I’m not sure what I would compare it to, but it definitely wasn’t bad!

Why should you stop in? The owner is hilarious and ready to hand out the samples! Since there are a lot of choices here (I think you’ll be surprised) it helps to know what you are getting in to before you commit.
You’ll find bags of vacuum packed jerky that range from Black Pepper Kangaroo to Black Pepper Buffalo and even Black Pepper Wild Boar! Wowza. They aren’t all black pepper, though. You’ll find sweet and spicy, natural, Teriyaki, soy, and hot varieties too!
Who knew that there were so many jerky flavors that it could justify its own stand-alone shop? What’s more…who knew they’d be so good?

Just because you are in Nashville doesn’t mean you can’t get a little wild. At least, it doesn’t mean your food options have to be predictable, right?
This Indiana town is so unique in so many ways. If you haven’t yet made the trip to Brown County, you will love what you find!
