Homemade Coconut Milk

Coconut milk makes tasty food more delicious. The gods own country has plenty of dishes dedicated to coconut milk. Payasam, stew, biriyani and the list grwos longer. Though many brands have come up with coconut milk powder packs nothing can beat a freshly prepared one right. Its so easy and tasty when made fresh.
Yield: 400 ml (First milk)
Cooking time: 10 minutes

Ingredients:
200g of grated fresh coconut
300 ml of boiling hot water
Other requirements:
Mixer Grinder
Sieve
Method:
Homemade Coconut Milk Take fresh coconut and add it to a large jar of mixer grinder. (refer notes)
Add boiling water 150 ml and grind at high speed for 1 minute.
Add remaining water and blend at medium speed for 1 minute.
Filter the contents and squeeze the fiterate (the coconut meat) to extract all the milk.
The collected milk is the first milk.
More water can be added to the coconut reside and blend to take second, third milk.
Homemade Coconut Milk
Notes:
The water used is too hot hence use a big jar with good head space to avoid splashing.
Always know that high speed will cause more splash hence use the quantity to one third of jar volume.
