Hollywood Movie Directors Loved Kojima’s Latest Metal Gear Solid Trailer
Posted on the 27 June 2014 by Sameo452005 @iSamKuliiHollywood’s biggest players are getting a little over-excited about that Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain trailer.
The likes of Guillermo del Toro, Nicolas Winding Refn, Avi Arad and Shinya Tsukamoto all were impressed by the latest MGS V trailer. These are just some of the reactions to Hideo Kojima’s latest trailer on Konami’s official website:
“Watching the trailers for MGSV makes you wonder if the spirits of Dostoyevsky, Stanley Kubrick, and Caravaggio entered Hideo Kojima’s body because, using the art of gaming as his canvas, he boldly goes where no one has gone before,” said Refn, who director ultra-violent movies Drive and Only God Forgives.
And Oldboy director Park Chan-wook dropped a quote I’d imagine Kojima has been waiting for his whole life: “He has actually been making films in his own way already. Metal Gear Solid games are already films, the films of the future.”
Tsukamoto, director of low-budget techno-gore movie Tetsuo: The Iron Man, reckons that “by the time you finish this game, you should be changed into a completely new person”.
