Artist Holly Jackson has found her inspiration through simple things: a flower, a photo, a cup of black coffee, and, of course, the dunes.
Forget the keychain–pop into Holly Jackson’s Art Studio and Gallery in downtown Chesterton and bring home a unique piece of the dunes (and something that friends will actually want).
While the dunes are certainly prevalent, forever captured in paint and hanging on a wall and smaller versions occupying tabletops and shelving, there’s far more to Holly’s work than that!

Poking around this fun Indiana art gallery, you’ll see a variety of subject matter. Flowers in vivid hues and unique arrangements. Bowls of fruit. Vases and branches, forests and abstracts. No matter what the topic, color takes center stage.
Teals and pinks, bold greens and aquamarine. Yellow, orange, and–there. A black and white painting catches my eye.
I find out it was copied from a photo taken by Holly Jackson’s very own mother back in 1947. As does another work with jewel tones of the lake titled, simply, “Evening.”
Bringing a bit of this Porter County town back with me in the form of local art now hanging on my wall.
