Holiday Wardrobe Wish List, 2012

By Linsibrownson @CleverSpark

When it comes to my wardrobe wants, I think I’m pretty practical.

Evidence:

In 2010, I spent 6 months shopping only at local Goodwill stores to test the viability of building a thrifted wardrobe. Result: yes, it’s viable.

Also, as a wardrobe strategist – and not a “stylist” – I help my clients build their wardrobes at any budget level, without resorting to fast fashion (too much).

So, yeah. I’m not a fashionista. But, like just every other girl, I have some lustworthy items on my wish list. These Christmas gifts, however, aren’t going to happen without a Christmas miracle.

holiday wish list

1.) Jil Sander leather jacket – $3,570

It’s a black leather peplum jacket. Like, The Matrix – only less … Matrix-y. How many things could I wear this with? What couldn’t I find to wear with this? Let’s just say we’d have to keep it locked in the coat closet to prevent me from wearing it EVERY DAY.

2.) Salvatore Ferragamo shoulder bag – $2,650

I’ve O-V-E-R bulky hobos and satchels. Instead, I want something super-lady-like. Something that makes me feel uber-classy every time I sling it over my shoulder. What I need is a slim profile shoulder bag, like this Ferragamo one.

3.) Gianvito Rossi suede ankle boots – $650

What can I say, these are hot.

4.) Tiffany Villa Paloma palm pendant – $2,600

I love Paloma Picasso’s ever-vibrant collection at Tiffany. Always unique and feminine, without being too wispy and fragile.

5.) This gown by Georges Hobeika – $if you have to ask …

Some women are really into pink. I’m not one of these women, but I am crazy about this dress. It’s hot pink crushed velvet and tulle. I think I’d prefer mind sewn up a bit more in front, but, other than that, it looks really comfortable.

I don’t really have many occasions to wear it to, though. If anything, I could just wear it around the house.
