Holiday Party Looks for all Types of Celebrations

In only 24 hours it will be holidays this, Christmas that. Not that it hasn’t started already. I heard Christmas music at a drugstore the day after Halloween, but you know there will be no hiding from it for the next month. It’s relentless.

While Christmas may be a little less than a month away, holiday celebrations start much sooner. People hold holiday gatherings and throw Christmas parties for the whole month. This means if you have been invited to a holiday party this season, you’ve got to get shopping.

Everyone celebrates the holidays differently. For me, I keep it casual, while other people have sparkly events that require fancy dresses. Whatever your plans are, I have put together five different types for holiday party looks for all types of celebrations.

Before you check out the looks, check out this new style video from me

That’s right, I’m back with a new video.

If you read yesterday’s post, this is a sweater from Peserico Mrs. Sunshine purchased. It’s perfect for dressy casual holiday parties with its elegant shape and metallic threads throughout the sweater.

I styled this sweater with a pair of wide-leg cropped pants from Chiari Boni La Petite Robe and finished the outfit with gold pumps from Renvy, a clutch from Shiraleah and earrings from Mad Jewels.

These Blackwatch plaid pants from Gerard Darel is another piece featured in yesterday’s post that Mrs. Wonderful purchased. Blackwatch plaid always feels holiday festive. I love how subtle the Blackwatch in these pants are and the style is super flattering. I added this Rag & Bone sweater to the look to create a more casual holiday look and finished the outfit with a navy tank, hunter green block heel pumps, a navy bag, and a station necklace.

So, accordion pleated skirts are back. Generally speaking, I’m not sure how I feel about their return because they can be tricky to style. Yet, this style from Halogen looks like a fun way to celebrate the holidays with its swishy skirt and metallic flair. While times are festive, it is still cold where many are celebrating the holidays, so I added this wrap sweater from Vince, added black tights and booties from Marc Fisher, a gold bag from J. Crew and necklace from Panacea.

For a look that works for entertaining at home or intimate gatherings, I styled this red lacy top from Gibson X Glam with a pair of stretch velvet trousers from Theory and finished the outfit with sequin flats from Sam Edelman, a black bag from Rebecca Minkoff and silver hoop earrings from Banana Republic.

For a more formal look, I styled this festive dress from Kay Unger that looks holiday but not so holiday that it couldn’t be worn at other times throughout the year. I added this burgundy layering piece for arm coverage and warmth and finished the outfit with burgundy pumps, a metallic clutch, cluster stone earrings from J. Crew and a layered gold bracelet from Nordstrom.

This kicks off my first of what will be holiday posts for the season. Wishing my American readers a very Happy Thanksgiving.
