Hit Or Miss: Cloud Cosmetics Baby Pores Review

By Alyssa Martinez @ItsMariaAlyssa

I don't often wear foundations, but when I do, they're already long-wear kind of foundations. So whenever I look for a primer, I look for something that will effectively blur or minimize my pores, reduce my redness, and help with a smooth application of my foundation. So when I read the description of this product, it feels like it was talking directly to me. But did it live up to my expectations? Read the rest of my Cloud Cosmetics baby Pores review to know more.

For those who aren't familiar with Cloud Cosmetics, it is a Filipino beauty brand formerly known as Eden's Paradise. They were popularly for their affordable but good quality liquid lipsticks. I've actually heard a lot about them from Beauty MNL but honestly, I never tried them. They got my attention when my favorite illustrator announced last September that she worked with them for their rebrand. I visited their new website and bought myself three interesting skincare products.

Hit or Miss: Cloud Cosmetics Baby Pores Review

What is it?

Cloud Cosmetics Baby Pores is a primer is specifically designed to cover, blur, and minimize pores and skin imperfections. It glides on as a cream and quickly transforms into a fine powder leaving a matte, silky smooth finish. It claims to instantly hide your imperfections. PERFORMANCE

APPLICATION: Squeeze an adequate amount onto your fingers and apply it evenly on your face. As mentioned above, it glides like a cream but it has a powdery matte finish. You can use it as a primer or on its own as a day cream for a natural look.

SCENT: It smells like powder.

PACKAGING: It is simply packaged in a 15mL tube that you can easily squeeze, and a plastic box which both have a minimalist yet cute design.

RESULTS: Baby Pores indeed feel like a cream at first, but while you spread it onto your face, but the finish feels a little powdery (just a little) and matte but not drying. It is lightweight, not silicone-y, and doesn't feel like it wasn't clogging my pores at all.

It has a beige tint, but it doesn't leave a white cast so it will not affect your makeup. But I like wearing this on its own too for those days I prefer a natural look. It really blurs or lessens the appearance of my pores, and also vanishes the redness of my skin. It also makes my skin look smoother. But take note, this is just a primer, not a concealer, so those blemishes like dark spots and acne are still visible. This product just preps your skin well for makeup application or for a natural look. I think it doesn't help with the longevity of your makeup.

Verdict

PROS: It made my skin look smoother, the pores look less noticeable, and the redness was reduced. It's not silicone-y, and it mattifies your skin but still, gives a subtle natural dew. You can use it as a primer or on its own.

CONS: It doesn't make your makeup last longer.

Will I buy it again? Yes, it may not be last as long as I want but it effectively blurs my pores and reduce my redness which is something I haven't experienced on other primers in this price range.

Where to buy?

You can buy Baby Pores in Cloud Cosmetic's official website at Php499 or $10 for a 15mL tube. But I think they only ship only in the Philippines, for now.
