Colonge is a toiletry perfume style that originated from Cologne, Germany. It is nowadays a generic term for scented formulations in typical concentration of 2-5% essentials oils. However as of today cologne is a blend of extracts, alcohol, and water

The original Eau de Cologne is a spirit-citrus perfume launched in Cologne by an Italian Pharmacist Johann Maria Farina, and he named his new fragrance Eau de Cologne

Unlike today’s cosmetic purposes they used it in medical purposes at those times. because of the mixture, they used it to treat digestive system diseases, people use to mixed it  with wine or just  few drops to sugar , it is also mainly used on faints , it is also used as an  Antiseptic mouth, wash,  ( let me tell you it is perfect for tooth aches) also used  for cleaning wounds, muscle and joint pain solution was a great friction. they also say that Cologne have therapeutic properties.
