Dutch indie rock bass and drums duo Hister have welcomed guitarist John Krol as their third member, allowing Merel Weijer (bass, vocals) and Michel Weber (drums, vocals) to broaden their musical scope on the new album Duuster. Besides punk and New Wave, gnarly Nineties alternative rock is now part of the equation. Think The Cure meets Dinosaur Jr, with both of them on steroids
They sing in their local tongue, a version of Low Saxon dialect spoken in their hometown Groningen, which won't be a problem for wider recognition. The mood and delivery make the language universal. Night life in all its facets is their main source of inspiration. It can be pretty dark and sometimes scary - with the hectic and angry Glin in heels and fast-paced rocker Nacht having a tug of war for being the most intense track on the album.
Hister:

Michel Weber: drums, vocals
John Krol: guitar
