If you're not familiar with the concept of high tea, what better place to familiarise yourself with this old English tradition than at Como The Treasury. And if you are, this British custom of an afternoon meal with a cup of tea is certainly a cut above the rest. Located in Perth's 140-year-old State Buildings, it's a decadent affair and they make the most of the state's amazing produce, which is sourced from all over Western Australia.

The furnishing is contemporary and elegant artwork by the extremely talented husband and wife duo; Philippa and Alex Nikulinsky, decorate the walls. Hailing from Western Australia, their art is a gorgeous blend of the Australian bush using a variety of mediums.

We attacked the scones next and with a cup of tea, they're the ideal afternoon nosh. Light and fluffy with a crunchy golden top, the chefs at Como The Treasury certainly know what they're doing. These scones were incredibly moreish and with a dollop of jam and cream, they were quickly polished off.

I loved the lemon myrtle cream, hazelnut streusel and Swiss meringue. The ideal palate cleanser, the lemon flavour was light and refreshing and just the right balance of sweet and sour.
