A day doesn’t go by without messages like the one above showing up in my email. Like the boy who cried wolf, you have set off my fight or flight mechanism one time too many.
I looked for an “Opt out” link on this email, to politely request you take me off your email list, but there was none. This forces me to go to my server and blacklist your URL.
One note in your favor
I have benefitted by many good articles on your site, and I appreciate your hard work. And I will continue to look to your site for good reporting on subjects other news services won’t touch. But the fear mongering is something I will no longer tolerate.
Tomorrow, when you predict the imminent death of all I hold dear, through any one of dozens of possible calamities, conspiracies or cataclysms, I will not read it. In fact, because it won’t be in my email, I will not even see it.
