I feel that I am a little behind on posting exhibits for the year, we’re more than half way through 2019 and I have only posted 12 exhibits so far. To help catch up, today I am posting a new exhibit as well as the retrospective Jidigi puzzle I posted earlier.

This looks like a fun toy, a kite made of cardboard that claims you can just toss it into the air and the wind will carry it high into the sky! I tried a “normal” kite at the beach once and had no luck whatsoever, I can’t imagine a hunk of cardboard working any better. Regardless, there is another interesting thing to note on the printing on the front. The item does not have a copyright date, but it does have the “ABC Circle A” version of the American Broadcasting Company (ABC) logo. This dates the item to around 1959 to 1961, when ABC was broadcasting Matty’s Funday Funnies. The item is in remarkable condition for its age. If you have the Spooky or Casper and Wendy version, please use the Contact the Curator form to let me know! I would love to see all three posted here!
