I've noted many times how all living creatures are equally affected by natural disasters. Bush fires, floods, eathquakes - we're all in it together.
Here's another example.
Days after the Japanese earthquake a dog was still watching over an injured dog. When it saw an approaching TV crew it went to them and led them to it's injured friend.
