This weekend there is a massive 3-day long party to make the most of the last few days of summer at Embargo Container Bar, the pop-up bar currently docked at Elizabeth Quay. Beginning on Friday and ending on Sunday, there's a forecast of guaranteed good weather, awesome music from a bunch of acts and live DJs, and most importantly, delicious food from a bunch of food trucks and Embargo Bar's very own Embargo Kitchen.
I checked out Heineken Saturday at Embargo Bar a few weeks ago and can definitely see why so many people chose this as their weekend social destination, so here's my recount of the whole Heineken Saturday experience and why you should come along to Embargo's Closing Weekend before they pack up and head off to their next harbour!
The nationally acclaimed flagship event for the premium beer brand in Perth was aptly held at Embargo Container Bar on March 11. Heineken Saturday's launch in Perth was a great success; the promised afternoon of live music from Aussie artists, endless rounds of tasty food and premium Heineken drinks was delivered soundly. Special appearance from US act Miami Horror was just the cherry on top of the cake.
The glorious Perth summer weather was the perfect backdrop for such an anticipated event, and really highlighted the charm that consistently attracts Perth locals to Embargo Container Bar. We are so lucky to have such amazing weather that the notion of cracking open a few beers and devouring delicious food with mates is just a no-brainer, hence why Heineken Saturday proved to be such a stellar event.
Which is definitely why you should come check out Embargo Container Bar this weekend for their closing event. If you're still not convinced, here are some main pointers to guide you in the direction of Embargo this weekend.
Yep that's right - running all weekend long, all guests are treated to entry at no cost, so that you can spend more on drinks and food!
The combination of Perth sunshine, sweet tunes and a delectable view of Elizabeth Quay really sets up the great vibes that radiate from Embargo Bar. It's mostly open air, dotted with plenty of tables and seats for you and your mates to rest your feet and comfortably stuff your face with food, and even has an elevated seating area that overlooks the entire pop-up bar so you can scope out the action. There really is nothing like sipping on some choice Heineken Beers while the sun sets, bopping your head along to the music along with hundreds of others!
Food trucks are really trending right now so whoever came up with the idea to have them within Embargo Bar was a genius. Besides serving up tasty, mouth-watering street-food-esque nibbles, their mere presence means you have extra food options on your night out without being restricted to just one menu. No need to venture out into Northbridge to get your post-drinks feed, when the likes of Greek Streats, What The Bao, Greenhorns Eat House and The Pasta Truck will all be making guest appearances right at there in the midst of it all.
Think The Bare Ends, The Recliners, DJ ELiSE KEDDIE and more. It's free, so why not?
Doors open at 5pm on Friday and 12pm on Saturday & Sunday so get there early to beat the rush. For more information and updates see the Facebook event page at https://www.facebook.com/events/278951302561017.
