A new valentines twist on Cinnamon rolls, with my delicious Raspberry Rolls, great to share with that special someone this Valentines Day.
Adding the orange juice and zest to these rolls just brings out the lovely sweetness of the raspberries. The soft yet fluffy roll with the yummy raspberry filling is like a bite of heaven.
Please see my 2nd ever video now, posted on youtube, I've love it if you could subscribe to my channel and like the video!!
Top with a little cream cheese frosting and bang you definitely can't resist these little guys, even me who is 99% of the time a vegan had to try a little bite! My family absolutely loved these little rolls, even the hubster who is supposed to be on a diet couldn't resist either.
Now I've not tried this on this specific recipe, however if you are vegan, use non dairy milk in the dough and it works just as well, as I use this same dough for my vegan friendly cinnamon rolls which is a blog post I really need to get going on.
If you did want to go very indulgent you could always drizzle on a little white chocolate, or even better dip them into a chocolate fondue! I'm hoping some one will try it and let me know how well it works.
Filling:
125g Raspberries Frozen
2 Tbsp Caster Sugar
1/2 Tsp Corn Flour
1 Tsp Orange Zest & Juice
Add flour, sugar, salt and yeast to a mixing and add the warm milk.
Knead for about 7-8 minutes, then cover and allow rise for about 1-1.5 hours.
Add frozen raspberries, corn starch, sugar, orange zest and juice to a bowl.
Mix the raspberry mixture well
Allow the dough to double in size, then knock out the air from the dough.
Roll the dough out on a floured surface.
Roll out to a large rectangle
Spread the raspberry mixture over the dough
Roll the dough in from both side so they meet in the middle.
Trim off the ends and then slice the dough about an 1-1.5 inches apart.
Place the rolls on a baking tray, and using the ends you trimmed off, cut into smaller pieces and add to the space into the rolls, then cover and allow to rise for 30 minutes.
Bake the rolls in the oven for 20 minutes at 200c.
Serve either on their own or with some cream cheese frosting and enjoy.
