About a month ago, I decided that it was time to really start losing the baby weight. I started to track what I ate using My Fitness Pal, and I was doing little exercise is here and there, but other than keeping weight of it wasn't helping me lose any of the weight.
It's very important to me right now to actually lose the weight. I'm usually not a proponent for other women to lose weight after just a few months from birth, but for me, it's a health issue. Heart disease and diabetes run rampant in my family bloodlines. If I want to be around to see my grandkids in about thirty years, I now need to do something now to prevent my health from declining later on.
I am now pledging to myself that I will no longer make excuses and I will drop the weight to a point where I am in a healthy range again. I am going to exercise about 3x a week or more, and I am going to track everything I eat and drink.

There it is, for everyone to see: my current weight. I'm down about 20 lbs since I gave birth to my third baby in March 2013, but I have further to go. Only 7 years ago, I was just at 200 lbs and only two years prior to that I was about 180 lbs. At that time, I was super fit. I wasn't skinny by any means, but I was all muscle from playing basketball and volleyball. Once I started working full-time, I started to gain weight. And then once I started having kids... forget it! I hope to one day be super fit again! Here are my goals:
- Lose about 60 lbs
- Walk about 10-15 miles a week (walk 3x a week) and track it using RunKeeper
- Track everything I eat (even the not-so-good stuff) using MyFitnessPal
- Drink 3 liters of water every day

Today I walked with two kids in the double stroller and one in the Moby wrap. Talk about burning calories!!
I am hoping to have lost all of that weight by next summer, but if it happens sooner, I'll be thrilled. I need to stick with this basic plan this time: no gimics, no 'diets'. Just some good old fashioned exercise and watching my food intake. I want to be a healthy mommy for my kiddos, and it all starts now. Keep track of my efforts! I'll be posting every Friday about my progress for the week. And hey, if you get the chance, I'd love some supportive words!
