Healing Turmeric Tea Recipe

We’ve all heard of the phrase ‘ in the pink of health’, meaning ‘being in good health’. However if you were to mention this to our Indian grandmothers, they’re sure to pooh-pooh you. “What pink? Health is in the yellow!!” Yellow is considered an auspicious color in India, and maybe its because of the immense health benefits of the popular yellow spice – turmeric!

Turmeric has a list of health benefits that is too long to list out here, but we’ve mentioned some of them in our recipe for Golden Latte. Today’s recipe is something similar, based on a traditional recipe where fresh root turmeric is grated and boiled in water with spices like ginger and black pepper. Now we know that practically speaking, grating and boiling turmeric root is difficult, which is why we’ve opted for the ready to use Turmeric Milk Masala from Little Moppet Foods. With a blend of turmeric, pepper, dry ginger, cardamom and cinnamon, this mix makes this recipe super quick!

Healing Turmeric Tea Recipe

When you're feeling under the weather, few things can be as soothing as a cup of turmeric tea, packed with the healing properties of turmeric and honey.

Ingredients:

Method:

1. Pour water in a sauce pan and heat on a medium flame.

2. Add the turmeric milk masala and allow the mix to boil. Simmer for 2 minutes.

4. Strain the decoction.

5. Add milk and honey to the decocotion and give a quick stir.

6. Pour the tea into a cup and serve hot.

Turmeric is something we add to our food every day, but this turmeric tea makes a nice change to the usual ways of including turmeric in your diet.   • 2 teaspoon Little Moppet Foods Turmeric Milk Masala
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 cup water
  • 1  tablespoon honey
METHOD
