Before I talk about the Leegeehaam Grow Tea Tree 70 Spot review, let me tell you one of the most common mistake people with acne-prone skin are doing is not continuing to use their spot treatment after their acne has vanished. Both my dermatologist and facialist agreed that even though the acne or a pimple has vanished, you still need to apply the treatment on the area to prevent it from appearing again. Plus, it can also reduce blackheads.
But I get why people do that, as someone with acne-prone skin, most spot treatments can sting or dry the skin or worst, irritate the skin with further use which is actually common with Benzoyl Peroxide spot treatments. So I tend not to continue using my spot treatments either and often switch to Vitamin C serums. Until I tried this latest LGH spot treatment which is part of their Tea Tree line.
WHAT IS IT?
Leegeehaam Grow Tea Tree 70 Spot is a highly effective yet gentle spot treatment targets blemishes with a 70% concentration of soothing tea-tree extract for clear, balanced skin. Leegeehaam is known for their innovative use of anti-inflammatory tea tree extracts in high concentrations in feather-light and scent-free formulations. You can read the LGH Grow Tea Tree 70 BHA Toner and the LGH Tea Tree 90 Essence review on those links.
INGREDIENTS
This intensive spot treatment is formulated with a powerful blend of botanicals including tea tree which is an effective anti-acne ingredient, algae, daisy leaf extract, and kava leaf calms the skin and relieves redness. Besides those, other notable ingredients are Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid and Sodium Hyaluronate which are both anti-inflammatory ingredients. It also contains Tocopherol (Vitamin E) which has an anti-aging benefit. Lastly, it is free of parabens, mineral oils, synthetic dyes. You can read more about its ingredient analysis in Skin Carisma.
PERFORMANCE
APPLICATION: Twist the cylinder to unlock. Pump the end of the spot treatment cylinder to dispense formula. Dab onto blemishes. Use on cleansed, dry skin.
SCENT: It smells like tea tree with a hint of citrus. Very mild which reminds me of baby soaps so even those "scensitives" will not get discouraged from using this.
PACKAGING: It has a really creative packaging, it is technically a pump tube designed to look like a syringe. While the colors, label, and box have the rebranded Leegeehaam minimalist design.
FORMULA: It has a light cream texture that resembles the LGH 5a Control Cream but much lighter. It absorbs nicely into the skin with a non-greasy finish. It is perfect for those with all skin types even those with oily skin.
RESULT: First of all, this Leegeehaam Grow Tea Tree 70 Spot does not sting and does not dry out the skin. So I had doubts if it will work, especially after three days of using and my pimple was still there. Because other spot treatments I use vanishes my acne in around three days but it was usually a painful or itchy process. But this spot treatment is kinda different, it is soothing and instead of drying out a pimple, it is healing it from within. Yes, it works slow but you will notice that your pimple is shrinking. And in a few more days it is gone without a dark spot!
However, I find this spot treatment takes way too long for cystic acne and for hormonal acne, I suggest you go to your doctor for that. Personally, I use this during the daytime because it matches well with my sunblock and does not cause irritation.
VERDICT
PROS: It is lightweight, soothing, does not sting, non-greasy, applies nicely on the skin and effective anti-acne spot treatment. It doesn't cause irritation and does not leave a dark spot when the acne is healed.
CONS: Some people may find this work a little longer.
