As the whole country experienced extreme weather conditions on Sunday and as a result the MCA grounds was transformed into a virtual swimming pool forcing the 04th Fairfirst Insurance Trophy, Mercantile Cricket Association (MCA) – “F” Division 25 Over League Tournament 2022 Final – between, unbeaten, Hayleys Group RC “B” and AV Business Solutions (Pvt) Ltd (Cash X) to be abandoned without a ball being bowled.

Thus, Hayleys Group RC “B” and AV Business Solutions (Pvt) Ltd (Cash X) were declared as joint winners. Special Awards were presented For brilliant all round performance up to the Semi finals, Sahan Harshana Jeewantha from Ansell Lanka was picked as the Best Batsman and Man of the Series (Performance: Batting 7 innings, 416 runs, 3 not outs, including one century and 4 half centuries, Avg. 104.0 Bowling 7 matches 163 balls, 160 runs, 16 wickets, Fielding 9 catches and 2 stumping as a wicket keeper).

Hayleys Group RC “B” left arm leg spinner, Sahan Nanayakkara (6 matches, 153 balls, 120 runs, 17 wickets) was picked as the best bowler.
