As promised here comes the second inspiration to make for your valentine tomorrow. It may be a last minute recipe which is very easy and delicious and takes no time to make. Simple french chocolate sablés. Sablés? Sablés are chocolate cookies made out of shortcrust dough. The fun things about these cookies is the cracking sound it makes when cutting them with cookie cutters. Since you chop up chocolate and fold it into the shortcrust dough, it´ll melt in the baked cookies, similar to chocolate chip cookies.

Ingredients:

  • 120g butter
  • 175g flour
  • 30g cocoa
  • a pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla sugar
  • 50g powdered sugar
  • 120g brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 150g chocolate

Mix butter, powdered sugar, brown sugar and vanilla sugar until creamy. Combine flour, baking soda, cocoa and salt in a separate bowl. Chop chocolate in small pieces. and fold into butter mixture. Now also add flour mixture and start kneading dough song your hands. Knead until smooth. Form a ball and rest in fridge for about 30 minutes. Roll out dough on a flour dusted surface and cut out hearts or any shapes you feel like, I made a fox for noemi, cause she recently got a fox cookie cutter haha.

Lay cut out cookies on parchment paper covered baking tray and bake them for about 10-15 minutes (oven temperature 175°C).

Have a great day,

xx
