New Year's Eve was always one of my favorite holidays. I loved spending time with family and friends, having great food, playing fun games, waiting for the ball to drop with a glass (or two) of champagne and going crazy with the annual cousin snowball fight after it's all over. It was always a blast!
And then I had kids.
Kids, especially the youngins, don't fare well with the late hours and loud noises. For me, the best place for my kids to be on New Year's Eve is in their beds, dreaming sweetly of how they can torture me the next day. They're both under 3 and very cranky when their schedules are messed with. So why mess with them?
My son does understand now a bit about the traditions of the holiday, but for my daughter? It's just another night leading to another day.
