Halo: The Master Chief Collection's day one update is actually 15GB
Halo: The Master Chief Collection's day one update is available to download now on Xbox One and is 25% smaller than previously expected.
Coming in at 15GB, the download is 5GB smaller than 343's original estimate, and takes the total install size of Halo: The Master Chief Collection to 57.9GB. 343 previously said that the patch would come in at around 20GB.  The content update adds the multiplayer portion of the game along with various other tweaks.
If you're pre-ordered the game digitally, make sure to enable auto-downloads in your system settings to grab the update ahead of release. If you're planning on picking up the game on disc, you'll be able to start playing the campaign while the update installs.
"You'll be able to start playing Campaign and more as the content is installing, with some features and multiplayer content being added via the update," executive producer Dam Ayoub said last month. "Yes, the update is large, but we weren't about to cut corners to save disc space."  Halo: The Master Chief Collection launches on Xbox One next Tuesday, November 11.
