This week may not be overloaded with hugely anticipated releases, but there’s still a lot to be excited about and keep you satiated till the next crop arrives. First up is Dayton, Ohio’s on again, off again indie rockers Guided By Voices, whose new release is the solo instrumental work of Robert Pollard. It’s much the same as you’d expect, but a bit rougher around the edges and worth a full listen. A$AP Ferg is also back with a fresh release, collaborating with the likes of Missy Elliot, Skrillex, Future, Rick Ross and more for an album that’s sonically diverse and interesting as hell to experience from beginning to end. New albums from We Are Scientists and Matthew and the Atlas are also high on our list, as is Rockabye Baby!’s renditions of Creedence Clearwater Revival songs. If you haven’t really given these bedtime jams a listen, I highly recommend it — it always starts off as a joke, but I guarantee you’ll be (at least partially) hooked.
