Amazing Halloween Decorating Ideas
Halloween is coming soon, and it’s time to have some fun and put out your Halloween decorations. Instead of depending on the usual choices at your local discount store, why not have some fun with the kids and make your own? Here are five Halloween decoration ideas that are sure to be fun to make.
1.Ghosts in TreesGhosts are one of the most popular Halloween decorations. Fortunately, they are super easy to make. All you need are some small white trash bags, crumpled up paper, yarn, and a black marker. Put some crumpled up paper (about the size of your hand) all the way inside the trash bag to form the ghost’s head. Tie off the head with a long piece of yarn. Draw on a simple face; two eyes and a mouth will do. With your yarn, hang the ghost from an outside branch. Make a bunch of these. They look great hanging from trees and blowing in the wind.

2.HeadstonesAnother Halloween decoration idea is a graveyard of headstones. To make a really scary scene, you’ll want to createseveral headstones of different sizes and shapes to place togetherin the front yard. Cut thick cardboard from boxes to make them. Draw R.I.P. or other creepy sayings such as “Boo!” on the front side. Use tape to attach the cardboard to a brick to ensure that the headstonestays upright.
3.Glow Jar LightsThere are so many ways to make glow jar lights, or lanterns, but you can go really simple. You can just decorate any empty jar and put a tea light inside, if you want to stop there. However, if you want more glow, glue on glitter to the outside of the jar, or spray the jar with glow in the dark spray paint. Consider usingthe fake tea lights if the jar is small and could get too hot. Glow jars are easy to make and create great ambience indoors or out. This tutorial shows you how to paint stick-ons to make a reallyeerie glow jar.
4.Creepy SpidersKids will love making creepy spiders to put all over the place. Black pipe cleaner works perfectly for the legs. Use anything round for the body, such as cardboard or bottle caps. Or just wrap extra pipe cleaner around a few times for the body. Glue on the legs. Buy some eyes at a craft store and glue them on, too. Voila! It’s as simple as that.
