This green smoothie reminds me of a creamsicle, but spicy!
After I published 40 Days of Green Smoothies, I have to admit I took a bit of a green smoothie hiatus. Developing the recipes for the book meant testing them each multiple times, and I’d run through the program three or four times before we finally published the book.
Lately, though, it seems like everyone’s drinking a green smoothie, and I wanted in on the action! This recipe isn’t from the book – it’s brand-spanking-new – and I mixed things up a bit to use what I had handy when my smoothie craving hit.
Our CSA delivered some super yummy oranges last week, and I still had a couple left. I’ve never used whole orange in a smoothie, so I decided to try it out! To make this smoothie, I just peeled the orange, leaving the bits of pith on, since those are full of healthy vitamins and fiber. The chopping is just so that you can get at the seeds. De-seed your orange however you like!
