GTA 5 devs are being sued for $40 million by former Mob Wives star
Grand Theft Auto 5 makers Rockstar are being sued by former Mob Wives star Karen Gravano.
She is alleging the developer used her likeness and personal story for the character Antonia Bottino who is featured in a random encounter mission titled “Burial”.
In the game, Bottino tells the player her father, Sonny Bottino, turned state evidence against the Gambetti crime family after retiring as an underboss.
Gravano is suing Rockstar for $40 million, according to NY Daily News: $20m in compensation and $20m for punitive damages.
“Notwithstanding the fact that plaintiff has the utmost respect for the writers and creators of the Grand Theft Auto 5 video game, her story is unique and is hers to tell,” the lawsuit reads.
Gravano is set to release a biography, and she feels Rockstar could have licensed her story “with relative ease,” ergo averting the lawsuit.
