Here is my first Tomcat post on this blog.  This tired D model is at the Pacific Aviation Museum in Hawaii, one of my regular stops when visiting the islands.

This is ‘Felix 102′  of  the VF-31 Tomcatters, one of the last squadrons to operate the F-14 before its retirement in 2008.  ‘Felix 102′ was supposed to perform the symbolic last flight only to have a last minute generator failure, allowing the backup plane to have the honor.  In 2008, Felix 102 moved to its final destination, traveling on the assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard.  HDR image.
