The fifth annual Collaboration Fest is Saturday, March 31st, and breweries all over Colorado have been busy preparing unique beers for the event. But it isn’t just Colorado brewers getting these special beers ready; around 200 breweries are taking part in this year’s Fest, many participating from states all over the US.

I stopped by Great Diving Brewing Company (Denver) last Saturday during a brew day with Huss Brewing  (Tempe, AZ), where brewers Brandon and Matt were hard at work collaborating on a creation called SWAIN (Style With An Interesting Name). But what exactly is this beer going to be?

SWAIN is described as a smooth and well-rounded beer with elements of a dark lager but voluminously hopped with piney and citrusy hops. What kind of hops are in it? There are four types of hops used in this brew: Perle, Tettnanger, Idaho 7, and Wakatu. Sounds intriguing, right?

You can try Great Divide & Huss Brewing’s SWAIN on March 31st at Collaboration Fest at the Hyatt Regency in Downtown Denver. Tickets are on sale now: Grab your GA tickets ($65) and sample all the beers you want from 4-7 pm. Or opt for VIP ($85) and get in an hour early with 3 pm entry.

Those who have attended Collaboration Fest before know what an extraordinary event it is. A fest consisting only of collaborations by 2 or more breweries makes this unlike any other beer festival around. And the spirit of comradery between breweries is nothing less than inspiring.

Those who haven’t attended should know this is one festival that is not to be missed! Don’t pass up the chance to try dozens upon dozens of exclusive beers brewed by some of the best breweries in the country. Collaboration Fest is a memorable event and truly a festival in a class of its own.
