We are super lucky to be located near York and for all the amazing opportunities that the city has to offer for awesome York wedding photography. We have photographed countless weddings in York and in doing so have worked at practically all the wedding venues in the area. It’s only natural then, that over the years some venues have become firm favourites.
Grays Court in York has to be on this list as one of our absolute favorite venues for small, intimate weddings. The house and grounds of Grays Court are beautiful and we just love the awesome opportunities this venue has to offer for some extra special Grays Court wedding photography.
Grays Court Indoor Wedding Ceremony Photography
Grays Court is the perfect venue for smaller weddings with lots of personality. Inside ceremonies are held in the beautiful Stern room, which can sit up to 40 people. The light in this room is just amazing and it’s beautiful details and statement fireplace make it the perfect setting for some awesome York wedding photography.

Tucked away in a cozy and secluded part of York (the surrounding cobbled streets often become sets for period dramas filming in the area) – Grays court manages to set itself apart even though it is located in the very center of York. With York Minster just a stone’s throw away, Grays Court wedding photography embraces the bustle of the historic city – nothing says York wedding photography more than the iconic York Minster as your backdrop – while still giving couples the option to sneak away from the crowds for more intimate photographs in the beautiful walled garden.
It is also possible to get married outside at Grays Court – a beautiful garden overlooked by the original, Roman city walls becomes the setting for outside ceremonies and afterwards the ideal location for portraits and canapés in the sun.
