Government Must Do More To Insure Equal Gender Rights
The Constitution of the United States guarantees equal rights for men and women, and the vast majority of Americans think it is important for men and women to have equal rights. That is the belief of about 88% of the American public, while only 12% doesn't consider equal rights to be important.
Unfortunately, the rights for men and women in the U.S. have never been equal. And a plurality of 47% knows that. They believe more needs to be done to insure equal rights. Sadly though 34% believe enough has been done and 19% believe too much has been done.
The charts reflect information in a new Economist / YouGov Poll -- done between October 29th and 31st of a random national sample of 1,500 adults (including 1,291 registered voters), with a 3 point margin of error.
I'm with the 47% who believes more must be done. Anyone who thinks men and women enjoy equal rights is living in a dream world.
