Got Essential Oils… Now What? 5 Tips to Getting More Essential Oils Into Your LifeEssential oils have been used in therapeutic practices, cosmetic applications, and religious ceremonies for thousands of years, and they still play a huge role in natural and holistic healing.

You know this. You get it. You have bottles in your cupboard... but, now what?

You're still struggling to get these healing oils into the routine of your daily life, even when you know that they work! Well... maybe that's because you didn't realize you could rub them, spray them, roll them, and even eat them.

Here's five simple tricks to getting more healthy, healing essential oils into your life.

TIP #1: Premix your rubbing oils! Pick your carrier lotion and mix about 12 drops of essential oil to one fluid ounce of carrier. Shake it up well, preferably in a glass bottle or jar, and LABEL it so you don't mix up your lavender with your eucalyptus.

Essential oils make a great muscle relaxer or stomach-ache remedy when rubbed right into your skin- which is the largest, most absorptive organ of the body. But you should never rub straight essential oils onto the skin- you're likely to end up with rashes and burns. That stuff is powerful.

So, you need to mix the essential oils with a coldpressed carrier like apricot oil, coconut oil, or even a good organic lotion.

But who wants to fumble with bottles and jars when your head hurts or you feel nauseous or your legs are all cramped up from your 72 mile run? Am I right?

Now, you've got them all mixed and ready with just a few minutes of prep.

TIP#2: Use a tiny roller top for your oils-on-the-go. Order a few of these rollers for your most-used oils, especially your headache, stomach, or skin remedies.

Now you can keep them in your purse, glove compartment, fanny pack, computer bag and you're not dripping and spilling when you need to rub some on your temple or your itchy eczema spot.

How many times have you just resorted to the Aleve that the other kids' mom had in her bag because you didn't have your trusted lavender oil with you? Stop. Make sure you're prepared by stashing a few small roller-top bottles of your fave oils in your favorite spots. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy. (A rub of lemon oil on your wrists can lift your mood.)

TIP #3: Clean with oils! You can replace most of your immune-depleting toxic cleaning products with simple essential oil and solution blends.

Basic cleaning: Combine 1/2 cup white vinegar, 3 cups purified water, and 20 drops of tea tree oil in a non-transparent spray bottle. Use as you would any multipurpose cleaner- counters, sinks, stovetops, showers, toilets, and even linoleum floors.
Stainless Steel: Mix 10 drops almond extract with ½ cup extra virgin olive oil for rubbing stainless steel clean.
Linoleum and Tile Floors: Mix ten drops of orange oil, ten drops of peppermint oil, 1 cup white vinegar, 1 cup rubbing alcohol, and 1 teaspoon natural dish soap into 1 - 2 gallons of hot water.

Windows: Mix 1 ⅓ cup distilled water, ⅔ cup white vinegar, and ten drops of lavender or citrus essential oil. Pour into a spray bottle and shake well.
