With the next-generation Corning Gorilla Glass 4, the scientists at the company have found a way to prevent the glass from breaking when it’s dropped, even on rough surfaces.
“In lab tests, Gorilla Glass 4 withstood such drops up to 2X better than competitive glass designs. And our drop tests are the toughest in the industry, conducted on rough surfaces that best approximate the real world of jagged streets, sidewalks and parking lots.”

Corning has already sent out test samples to manufacturers to start implementing this new glass on their new devices. We’ll get to see tougher smart devices in the markets with Gorilla Glass 4 very soon.
