The renowned technology blog Re/code has come into possession of a document about a new Gmail feature called “Pony Express”, which allows users to make bill payments from their Gmail or Inbox account. The document also suggests that Google is currently working with third-party vendors to release this new feature by Q4 2015.

Paying e-Bills is not the most difficult task these days, thanks to services like PayPal and 2Checkout. However, this new Pony Express feature will allow us to save the time we spend loading, logging into different websites and entering our credit card details every time we make a payment.

After signing up with Pony Express, users will also have the ability to share a bill with a friend through Pony Express and even split the cost.

How’s Google going to profit from this? Well, the service will definitely help the company get access to more private information of users and which services they interact with the most, which will come in handy for Google to show personalized ads across the web. Or Pony Express might also charge a small fee as well.
