Google Will Disadvance Non-mobile-friendly Sites, What Does This Mean for Your Business?

By Wilcowings @WilcoWings

The search engine giant Google has released an update on April 21, 2015 that will have a major impact on the findability of websites. They give the mobile friendly websites a big advantage, which make them easier to find for users on smartphones or tablets.

What does this mean for you?
Even though you have a very nice, well-functioning website, if it is not mobile friendly, this change from Google may cause that your website is not findable for users of smartphones and tablets.

Nowadays there are more and more people that do no longer use the computer mainly, but surf at home on the couch on their smartphone or tablet. Remember, mobile is more than just a device, it is also the environment and the end-user experience. One should provide an optimal experience on any device or they sadly stay behind.

Ask yourself, what is my audience? Are these the people that are sipping a coffee in the city and compare online products and services via smartphones? Or are these people that orientate from home or office? But what if these groups find your competitor, do not you? This is a big problem.

If you have a consumer-oriented company, than mobile is THE future, especially when you consider that most of your customers already use a mobile device. For retailers and service providers, it is essential to be found online, so there’s really no time to lose!

No matter what kind of business you have, a responsive website that responds to each device is a must.

In your analytical data, you can find how many mobile visitors your site has had. Than you can make an estimate how many visitors you are possibly going to lose.
