Google Rolls Out Update for Google+, Claims 540m Active Users

Google has announced a new update for its’ social network, Google+. New update comes with 18 new features that aims to improve video, photos, Hangouts and more.

New update to hangout now allows users to share their location and send SMS to their friends via the app.  Video calling has also been improved to fix and enhance webcam lighting  automatically whenever a user launches hangout chat. Auto Enhance, Auto Eraser, Auto Awesome Action are some of the new filters released for Photos to offer users the ability to make their photos look better than ever. Snapseed and its new HDR Scape filter is also available for users to give all their photos a stunning look.

At the moment, Google claims the social network is growing rapidly with over 540 million active users worldwide, including 300 million active users in the stream. And Google+ also gets filled with 1.5 billion photos each week. Seems like it’s the right time to call Google+ a worthy Flickr rival.

Movie and Photo improvements goes live over the next few days for all Google+ users.  While Auto Awesome Movie said to work on certain devices with Android 4.3+.
