It’s been only a few days since the mobile security startup BlueBox found out about a potentially dangerous security hole in the Android system. They said it’s been sitting there for years going far back to Android 1.6, allowing hackers to change apps in anyway they want. But, don’t worry, Google has already fixed this vulnerability and has already released a patch to its OEM partners, according to ZDnet.
Almost all the Android phone users were terrified about the safety of their devices after hearing about this security bug, which Bluebox CTO Jeff Forristal said could “affect any Android phone released in the last 4 years”. However, Gina Scigliano, Google’s Android Communications Manager told ZDnet that they haven’t “seen any evidence of exploitation in Google Play or other app stores” during this time and assured that Android users will be safe as long as they download apps from trusted sources.
Anyway, you won’t be able to fix your Android devices with the patch by yourself. You’ll have to wait until it comes to you as an OTA update.
