Google Previews New ‘Classroom’ to Celebrate Teacher Appreciation Day

Posted on the 07 May 2014 by Nrjperera @nrjperera

“Today, in honor of Teacher Appreciation Day, we’re announcing a preview of Classroom, a new, free tool in the Google Apps for Education suite,” Google’s Zach Yeskel wrote on a blog post. “It helps teachers create and organize assignments quickly, provide feedback efficiently, and communicate with their classes with ease.”

With integrated support for Google Docs, Drive and Gmail, Google Classroom allows teachers to create and collect assignments online and see the progress of student’s work and even get real-time feedback. Classroom also allows teachers to easily make announcements, ask questions and comment with students, while keeping their work neatly organized online.

Unlike other online services, Google promises that their Classroom will never contain annoying ads and to never use teachers’ content or student data for advertising purposes.

Google Classroom is free to use and is currently in preview mode. Teachers can apply to get into this preview of Classroom to see how it is before the launch.
