Goodie Goodie Gumdrops Soap Recipe Melting Your Melt and Pour Soap

Goodie Goodie Gumdrops Soap Recipe Melting Your Melt and Pour Soap
For the first step you will want to use a medium, microwave safe bowl. Use a scale to weigh out and cut up 413 grams of Diamond Clear Melt and Pour Soap. This can be melted in a microwave for a minute or so. Make sure you don’t put in for too long because you don’t want your soap to get too hot. Getting your soap too hot could happen very easily if you leave the soap unattended so be sure to watch as you microwave. We suggest that you take the soap out periodically and mix it to prevent this. While there may be some soap chunks remaining in the bowl, the soap may be hot enough to melt the soap chunks as you mix. If it isn’t hot enough, then stick it back in the microwave for a few more seconds and try again. Note that for the next few steps you will want to move a bit faster because the soap will begin to set up as it cools.

For your second step you will be adding Natures Garden’s Goodie Goodie Gumdrops Fragrance Oil to your already melted soap. Using your gram scale, add 4 grams of the Goodie Goodie Gum Drops Fragrance Oil to your medium sized bowl of melted diamond clear melt and pour soap. Be sure that you do not add more than 4 grams of this fragrance because it has a body safe limit of 1% of the weight for the total recipe. Mix the fragrance oil in quickly and get ready to separate the soap into the small four bowls. If your melt and pour soap begins to set up, you can add it to the microwave for a few seconds. However, it cannot become too hot or the fragrance oil will burn off! So, you will need to be quick and ready to go.

For the next step you will be taking your medium sized bowl to equally divide the melted soap into four small bowls. Each of your bowls will be used to create one of four different colors from the scrumptious gumdrop soaps. Now, using your scale, weigh out approximately 103 grams of the scented melt and pour soap in each bowl.

Next, we will be adding various Fun Soap Colorants to the bowls. This will create a variety of colored gumdrops! First, you will be creating some great green goodie gumdrop soaps! Take one of your previously weighed small bowls of melt and pour soap. Next, add 4 drops of our neon green fun soap colorant. This will give your soap a bright green candy color. Now, stir until the fun soap colorant has been evenly distributed throughout the melted soap. Pour the green soap into the first row of the gumdrop mold and spray with alcohol. Make sure that any soap that is remaining on top of the mold is wiped away to prevent the other gumdrops from color transfer.

Next, you are going to create your pretty pink gumdrop soaps! Take your next small bowl that has 103 grams of melt and pour soap. Stir in 2 drops of our neon pink fun soap colorant. Also, add 2 drops of our ultramarine violet fun soap colorant. After the dye has been mixed in evenly to create a vibrant pink hue, pour the soap into the second row of the gumdrop mold. Spray your pink soap with alcohol and wipe the excess soap from the top of the mold.

Now, it’s is time for you to create your scrumptious blue gumdrop candy melt and pour soap! Take another small bowl of melted soap. Now, stir in 5 drops of the neon blue fun soap colorant. Also, add 1 drop of the ultramarine violet fun soap colorant. Once the dye has been mixed in well, pour the soap into the third row of the mold and spray this row with alcohol.  Also, wipe any soap poured above the indent.

Now it’s time to play the waiting game for a few minutes. Although it doesn’t take too long to set up, you must make sure that the melt and pour soap has completely set up. If you wish to speed up the soap’s cooling process, you have the option to move your filled soap mold to your refrigerator. Just make sure that your soaps are set up just enough on the top to be able to move the mold without creating ripples on the top of your soaps. You can tell whether they’re ready by watching the tops and slowly moving. If it looks too liquid, wait longer. Eventually, the soap will be entirely set up, either on its own or with some help from the fridge, and you will be able to pop the cute little melt and pour candy soaps out of the gumdrop mold.

As a final step you can use some white, granulated sugar to make your melt and pour soaps look more realistic. This is the step that really makes these little candy soaps look realistic! Adding sugar doesn’t reduce the quality of the soap, as the sugar can wash right off before use. Now, spread a nice layer of your white cane sugar on a plate. Then, spray one of your gumdrops with some rubbing alcohol to get the sugar to stick to the soap better. Now you can lightly roll the sprayed gumdrop soap in the white sugar to get an even coat on the little soap. You can repeat the spraying and rolling steps with the other melt and pour gumdrop soaps.
