Goodbye to Yesterday

By Fiafox @SofiaEssen
Yesterday, all I wanted was for the day to end. I couldn’t wait to pull on my cozy flannel pajamas, creep under a pile of protective blankets, rest my weary head on an understanding pillow, and fall into a deep and dreamless sleep.   It was one of those days where everything that could possibly go wrong went wrong in the most profound way. If I didn’t know any better, I’d say that the ruler of the universe decided to pick on me because he or she or it didn’t have anything better to do. He or she or it just wanted to see out of curiosity how much crap I could take before I finally threw my hands up in the air and shouted, “You win! I give up!” at the top of my lungs. He or she or it, for lack of a better word, sucks.    Of course, the rational part of me knows that the ruler of the universe didn’t single me out to test my limits and push me to my breaking point for a laugh. It just wasn’t my day yesterday. As Forrest Gump said, “Shit happens.”
