From Seattle Times: State troopers helped rescue a baby eagle Saturday after it fell from a nest and tumbled onto the shoulder of southbound Interstate 405 near Lynnwood.
The Washington State Patrol tweeted a photo showing the bird resting in the passenger seat of a patrol car.
A passer-by saw the eagle and pulled off the freeway lanes at about 1:15 p.m., until Trooper Lance Ramsay showed up and drove the bird to PAWS, according to Trooper Heather Axtman, a patrol spokeswoman.
The nest is less than a mile south of the I-5/I-405 junction, in a corridor lined by evergreen trees.
Bird rescues like this happen a few times a year around the state, Axtman said.
