Goldroom’s recent performance at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles carried a great, carefree vibe — a definite Saturday night celebration. The fans and friends of Joshua Legg, the mastermind behind the DJ sets and live band performances, cheered him and his other bandmates on throughout the entire set, feeding off the energy and fun shown by everyone on stage.
Singer Chela pleased the crowd with her uniquely eclectic dance skills and a powerful range of vocals packed into her pint-sized self. Fellow muse Mereki graced the stage with her confident and quirky vibe, joining for a duet with Chela for the bands hit “Only You Can Show Me”, taking the crowd to what felt like a beachfront dance party scene. The energetic set also included hits “Fifteen”, “Sweetness Alive” and the fan favorite, “Embrace”. The group appropriately closed the night with the anthemic title track to Goldroom’s first EP, “Angeles”.
Check out additional Goldroom remixes such as MSMR’s “Hurricane” and MØ ‘s hit single “Don’t Wanna Dance” on their SoundCloud page, and be sure to catch the recently released video for “Embrace”, which compliments the whimsical words and production behind the already popular song.
