God, I can help you change my husband…I know how to!
Dear God, Thanks’ for your time, really appreciate it, I know you must have lots do to these days. With all these people doing wrong choices, they don’t know how to live a good life. They are too busy doing things for themselves. It must be pretty hard to see all these people hurting one another without any reasons. They give up so easily these days……
Well but any way, I am glad you have time for me and what I want to share that’s on my heart. I really need a favour; I really need help with a big and huge issue in my life. I need you to help me to change my husband.
I can’t stand him any more. I have tried everything, but he will not change. He doesn’t listen to me. He doesn’t understand my needs and me. I say that he needs to pray more and read the Bible, but he doesn’t. Clearly he needs to find out who he is in you. I mean how can I love him if he doesn’t know who he is. I am trying here believe me.
I am sure you love him and all that, and believe me I love him too. I am really trying here. And I think he will be a perfect husband one day….for someone else.
I know he is a great dad, he is a very good coach for the soccer team our son plays in. It is just that it takes up a lot of his time. He helps his Nan a lot, sometimes I think too much. I mean other people can help out too, right? And absolutely I have to give him credit for supporting us and providing for us. I mean he is working a lot. He even worked double one period so we didn’t had to cancel our ski trip. It is just that I think what we had is not here any more. I think we have just grown apart and the love we had has died.
Well, Thank you so much for listening, thank you for your understanding; it is always so good to talk to you. I have to run, but I will come back later to hear if you have any constructive criticism. Or any other insight I might have, maybe words I can use when I tell my husband how and what he needs to change.

And just to let you know, if you don’t have time with my husband, I pretty much know what needs to be done. So it is absolutely fine if you leave it to me. Well, when I think about it, I’ll do it myself! “
Don’t know about you, but this has been a very common communication with God in my own life. All I could see, all I could focus on were Johan’s wrongs and shortcomings. I never stayed long enough to hear God’s answer or his guidance. I was too busy and I already knew how I wanted to live my life and how to do it. My marriage and life started to change when I changed. Never more complicated than that. God through His son Jesus Christ and by the power of the Holy Spirit will give you what you need to change heart. One of the best moments in my life was when I asked God after my monolog, did you say something?
And yes, He had a few things to say…….
“Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean. Your filth will be washed away, and you will no longer worship idols. And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart. And I will put my Spirit in you so that you will follow my decrees and be careful to obey my regulations.
