I asked my son tonight what his favorite part of today was and he said 'Giving Kwazii a high five'... Then he said, 'no wait, it was giving Kwazii a cuddle to say Hi and a high five to say Bye'...
Needless to say both my kids were thrilled to meet the Octonauts today at the Loch Lomond Sea Life Centre.
We went with my friend Kath & her two little ones & I think it's safe to say we all enjoyed ourselves.
I bought tickets online & I recommend that you check out their website as discounts are available if you pre-book. The good thing about the Octonauts visit was that it didn't cost any extra on the usual ticket price.
We arrived for the Centre opening at 10 & it was relatively quiet. We headed straight to the designated room to meet the Octonauts and didn't need to wait long to see Peso. After a quick hello & some photos, we headed next door into the cinema to watch some Octonauts on the big screen. We then decided to have a bite to eat whilst the cafe was quiet. The kids had a lunch box each & I think it was rather good value. They had a full-size ham sandwich, crisps, raisins, juice box and a toy for £4.
After lunch we decided to try & see if we could meet Kwazii. It was getting much busier & we had a 20 minute wait. But I'm glad we went back as I think he was my sons favorite of the two! I had thought there might have been tantrums given that only Kwazii and Peso were there but I just told him the others were holding the fort at the Octopod!!
We went downstairs to go & see the fish but it was really busy, difficult to navigate with the pram and keep tabs on two toddlers at the same time! Needless to say we didn't stay for too long & after seeing the turtle & sharks we headed outside via the shop. I had said that my two could have a treat each. The littlest picked an Octonaut cup upstairs in the cafe (£6!) and when we reached the cafe my son decided he'd like a helium balloon. Littlest had a fit though so I let her have a balloon also. The balloons were £5 each!! £10 on helium balloons!!!!
Anyway, this was my first visit to Loch Lomond Shores with the kids. We went from the Sea Life Centre to the sand at the edge of the loch & the kids had a wee paddle. After which we went for ice cream cones & then had a play in the park. My son also had a quick shot on one of the 'race tracks' on a police motorbike which was £1.
All in all it was a great day out. Not sure it's somewhere I'd go on my own with the two little ones, but I'd definitely go again whilst my dad or sister is visiting.
Did anyone else go to see The Octonauts?
