Victoria Beckham features on the cover and in the pages of August UK Vogue, photographed by Patrick Demarchelier of course. Here she is wearing a beautiful frock (can I call couture a frock?) from Schiaparelli Haute Couture. Keeping her warm is a wool coat by Maison Martin Margiela and leather boots by Christian Louboutin – who else? What a dream photo shoot, such lovely clothes she gets to model for the camera. Beautifully styled by Lucinda Chambers, the shoot centres around Victoria in the garden, the aim was to see her doing something no one’s seen her do before, at least not in the pages of a magazine.
In Victoria’s own words: “I looked at it [turning 40] and said to myself, I have four incredible children, an incredible husband, a business that’s doing very well. I’ve worked hard and achieved a lot. I don’t think I could have achieved much more,” she told Vogue’s Emily Sheffield, adding: “I wouldn’t be where I am without David. He gives me the security and encouragement to do what I do. I do the same for him.”
For no particular reason, other than being inspired by the lovely Mrs Beckham’s words above, I would like to give my own husband a shout-out just quietly here while I have the chance. Thank you, my love, for all that you do, for all that you are, and for the support you provide, the encouragement you offer me when needed, and for making me breakfast.
