Dr. Laura Berman has expert Vajayjay tips!
Q: The man I’m dating is too big (his penis), so when we have sex it’s painful and uncomfortable. Other than using extra lubricant, is there anything we can do to “stretch” me or make sex more comfortable? He’s also said at times that it feels as though he’s hitting something when we have sex. Is he hitting my uterus? If so, can this be dangerous? — Robin, Texas
Dr. Laura Berman– “Rest assured that there is no danger in having sex with a man who has a large penis. The only concerns are the discomfort and pain you are feeling. His penis is most likely hitting your cervix, which is the base of the uterus. However, a woman’s uterus and cervix usually rise when she is aroused, which actually lengthens the vagina and prevents the penis from reaching the cervix. If this is not happening in your case, it could be because you are not aroused enough throughout sex. To increase your excitement during sex, you might need more time for foreplay. Or perhaps you’re worrying about experiencing pain while you’re having intercourse, which can prevent you from becoming aroused. Either way, you should definitely take things slowly, use a lot of lubrication, and spend plenty of time on intercourse. You can also try the woman-on-top position, which will help you control the thrusting and the deepness of intercourse. This position might also help you feel more in control of sex, which can sometimes lessen anxiety during intercourse.”
