With a wingspan of over 156 feet, the NASA SGT can lift-off carrying more than 26 tons inside its’ 25 feet tall, 25 feet wide and 111 feet long cargo compartment. Just last year The Super Guppy took two giant airplanes for a ride from Houston to El Paso. The airplanes were loaded into the SGT through the hinged nose, which opens up at 200 degrees.

Since the first Guppy developed in 1962, the NASA Super Guppy came a long way supporting many NASA space programs  including Gemini, Apollo, and Skylab to transport heavy lifting. Today, it’s another man-made marvel that still amazes us with its’ amazing capabilities, and it got only bigger and better.
