Last week I was invited by Tamara of Tamara Wilson PR to visit and explore the GiftCenter & JewelryMart in San Francisco on 888 Brannan Street. I hadn't heard of the center before but soon learned that it was the Bay Area's premier collection of jewelry, diamonds, and precious stones. To make things even more exciting, I learned that the JewelryMart offered wholesale pricing to the public - all you have to do is make an appointment. That's right: wholesale diamonds.When I arrived I also discovered that I was the first blogger to be granted early access!
The GiftCenter &JewelryMart is essentially a hidden jewel within itself; located in the beautiful historic 888 Brannan Building, the wholesale market is mostly located below ground level. Over 100 vendors offer spectacular items ranging from fine jewelry, fashion accessories, leather goods, loose stones, designer watches and sunglasses, pearls, and even clothing.
Tammy gave me a personal tour of the space, and introduced me to several vendors. While there we stopped into Padis Jewelry. What a stunning array of diamonds! I felt like Carrie Bradshaw in a shoe store: so many beautiful rings, all available to try on. The experience was enhanced with complimentary champagne and lots of friendly, pressure-free conversation.

While visiting I was also able to explore some of the clothing and handbag shops. Many had fine Italian leather imports, and runway inspired pieces. There really is something for everyone at the GiftCenter & JewelryMart! Men will find plenty for themselves as well: fine watches (including battery replacement and repair), leather goods, and travel accessories. I can't believe I didn't know about this space earlier.
To visit: To visit you will need to make an appointment. Don't worry it's very easy to do. Simply visit the GiftCenter & JewelryMart website and schedule an appointment online. A second option would be to walk in at the 888 Brannan location and request a pass from Guest Services. Once there you'll receive a printed name pass. Your first visit is complimentary, with each subsequent visit being $20. Be sure to mention that I sent you! Have fun shopping!
