This time of year my favorite gift is fresh cut flowers from my flower beds. Choosing, clipping, dodging bees, pulling and rinsing beautiful old and worn glass vases and washed out milk bottles - it is a joy to put these little creations together. All around the house, summer beauty, the season's simplicity. Gifts, indeed.
